How Your Files Are Processed

gif.totakit.com processes all files entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you drop a file onto a tool, the file is read into your browser's memory, processed using Web Workers (background threads), and the result is made available for download — all without any network request.

No file data, file metadata, file names, or file contents are transmitted to any server at any point during processing. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads — every tool continues to function.

Camera and Screen Recording

The Camera to GIF and Screen to GIF tools request access to your camera or screen through standard browser permission prompts. These media streams are processed entirely in your browser — no video or audio data is transmitted to any server. The streams are stopped and released when you finish recording or navigate away from the tool. gif.totakit.com does not store, cache, or transmit any camera or screen recording data.

Offline Use

gif.totakit.com uses a Service Worker to cache the application after your first visit. All tools continue to function without an internet connection. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet — every tool works offline. No network requests are made during file processing.

What We Do Not Collect

  • File contents, file names, or file metadata
  • Processing inputs, outputs, or settings
  • Clipboard data
  • Camera or microphone data (these APIs are used only when you explicitly activate a creation tool)
  • Screen recording data (used only when you explicitly activate the screen-to-gif tool)

Analytics

gif.totakit.com uses two analytics services:

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personally identifiable information. It measures aggregate page views and performance metrics only.
  • Google Analytics — used to measure page views and aggregate usage patterns. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors. It does not have access to any file content, file metadata, or processing data. No file-related information is transmitted to Google. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using a browser extension or disabling JavaScript for the analytics domain.

Cookies

gif.totakit.com uses a single localStorage entry to remember your theme preference (dark or light mode). Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors — these cookies contain no personal information and are not used for advertising. No tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics are used. No third-party advertising cookies are present.

Third-Party Services

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare provides CDN, DNS, and DDoS protection services. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to the delivery of static files. No user data is shared with Cloudflare beyond standard HTTP request headers (IP address, user agent) required for content delivery.

Data Retention

gif.totakit.com does not store any user data on any server. Files exist only in your browser's memory during processing and are released when you close the tab or navigate away. Blob URLs created for downloads are explicitly revoked after use.

Children's Privacy

gif.totakit.com does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The service does not require registration, does not collect personal information, and does not use tracking technologies.
